TITLE: ON CALL BOX OFFICE ATTENDANT
OVERVIEW: The Box Office Attendant is an outgoing, detail-oriented individual responsible for day-to-day box office duties and responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess or ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with individuals and groups both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to relate to public, staff and students in a positive manner.
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding customer service/sales skills.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to listen to concerns and resolve problems creatively.
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ticketmaster experience (preferred).
- Prior experience handling cash and balancing a till.
- Ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:
- Assist customers with purchase of tickets over the internet, telephone and in-person.
- Operate ticketing system and follow box office procedures.
- Present a positive and welcoming first impression to customers.
- Provide customers with expedient responses to requests and issues, using a broad, precise knowledge of The Madison Center for the Arts performances, policies, and services.
- Provide quality customer service by responding in a timely manner, to walk-in customers, phone calls, or e-mail.
- Meet the obligations of the position by completing other duties as assigned.
- Prepare box office reports as required for the Box Office Manager.
- Reconcile cash sales at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Demonstrate discretion and professional behavior handling confidential information.
- Uphold Madison Center for the Arts policies and procedures and represent Madison Center for the Arts and Madison School District in a professional and welcoming manner at all times.
NOTE: Applicants may be required to work afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends, dependent on operational needs. This position is an on-call position.
GRADE / SALARY SCHEDULE / LENGTH OF WORK YEAR:
Classified Hourly - GRADE B $16.20-$20.05(DOE)
