Position Title: Social Worker, District Lead - GRANT FUNDED POSITION
Length of Work Yr: 10 months *Grant funded position
Salary Range: $42,804 - $69,423 *Grant funded, year to year
Placement based on education and experience

Reports To: Director of Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three years experience in school social work preferred
- Possess broad knowledge regarding child development, learning and family systems
- Possess knowledge of the RULER evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning developed at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence
- Bilingual skills preferred
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coaches school team on strategies for effective implementation of SEL based on the CASEL principles
- Provides professional development to staff on RULER and SEL
- Supports school teams in the implementation of RULER
- Assists building administrators in developing best practice PBIS strategies school wide and for individual students.
- Identifies school and community resources to support the educational programs.
- Serves as liaison with community agencies and assists in fostering communication between schools, parents/guardians and community leaders.
- Identifies scientifically supported educational, behavioral and mental health services to address school needs.
- Provides specialized services such as crisis intervention and consultation.
- Observes and collaborates with teachers, providing one to one feedback to the teacher on individual behavior plans.
- Consults as a behavior support to district resource and self-contained special education teachers.
- Consults with school teams in the implementation of PBIS.
- Assists staff in the training and development of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Plans.
- Serves on system wide committees to address educational issues, safety issues and program development for students.
- Maintains required clinical records and submits appropriate documents for statistical reports with adherence to program standards in school social work.
- Provides social work case management for students and families.
- Attends to training duties as assigned to support the Madison PBIS model with special education students in: typical classrooms, special education classrooms, playground/ lunchrooms/passing time and school buses.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Maintains valid certifications/licenses and Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Observes district calendar and all Madison School District policies.
Salary to be determined yearly according to Governing Board approved range.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated by the Student Services Director and/or Special Ed Coordinator with the input of school principal or designee.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises classroom employees, students and volunteers.
