JOB GOAL:

To continue student learning in the absence of the classroom teacher; to establish effective rapport with students assigned to the classroom, to motivate pupils to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability; to establish good relationships with other staff members.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Implements lesson plans, utilizes instructional materials and provides effective classroom instruction.
  2. Uses classroom management techniques that promote positive student behavior.
  3. Establishes, shares, and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
  4. Maintains a safe, orderly environment for students, conducive to learning.
  5. Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified by District policy.
  6. Anticipates and effectively addresses unforeseen crises associated with working with large groups of children.
  7. Is reliable and punctual
  8. Displays professionalism through positive attitude and professional dress.
  9. Complies with state law and district policies and regulations.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

REPORTS TO:

Building Principal/Front office

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Maintains valid certifications and fingerprint card.

 

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated by the building principal or designee.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises classroom employees, students and volunteers.

COMPENSATION:

$150/Day for classroom coverage  $115/day for SpEd parapro coverage

Long term assignments (21 days and beyond): $170-$195/day depending on certificate type
