TITLE: CONCESSIONIST FOR THE MADISON CENTER FOR THE ARTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess or be able to obtain a current Maricopa County food handler’s certificate
- Possess or ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work flexible hours within short notice
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays
- Ability to be an effective team member and take direction well
- Ability to handle and count money and perform cashier duties as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively, possessing excellent verbal skills
- Possess an Arizona driver’s license and have own vehicle
- Ability to be organized, creative and self-motivated
JOB GOAL:
Participate in food preparation, serving, stocking and clean up for the concessions stand and catered events at The Madison Center for the Arts. Strive to provide excellent customer service, interacting with customers and clients in a pleasant and professional manner. Due to the professional duties of this position, the shifts and workdays may vary based upon scheduled events. Hours will include evening, weekend and possibly holiday shifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcome guests at concession stand and take orders for food or beverage
- Enter orders into point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
- Collect payments and count back change for cash transactions
- Assist with food preparation, meal service and cleaning
- Provide and maintain excellent food and setup presentation at all concessions and catering events
- Properly operate cooking, warming and storage equipment
- Maintain concession stand and kitchen equipment, keeping them clean and sanitized
- Possess a working knowledge of proper cooking and serving temperatures to ensure food is safe for consumption
- Ensure that events are properly equipped and executed by transporting, pulling, setting up and breaking down, as well as returning equipment to designated storage areas in compliance with event standards and instructions
- Organize work to meet a time schedule and assist in catering duties
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure proper food safety
- Read and understand all department SOPs
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures at all times, including end of shift closing procedures as required
- Provide excellent customer service to all customers and staff
- Have a positive attitude and neat appearance
- Contribute to the team by accomplishing additional duties as assigned
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents in English as well as the ability to write routine correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups of customers and co-workers.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations/issues. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and verbal form

Performance will be evaluated by Catering Manager

Supervised by Catering Manager

Grade B / Salary Range: $16.20/HOUR
