TITLE: School Psychologist Intern 2025-2026 School Year
Position Title: School Psychologist Intern
Length of Work Yr: 10 months
Salary Range: $42,000/Exempt
Department: Student Services
Reports To: Director for Student Services, School Principal, and School Psychologist Supervisor
JOB GOAL:
While working under the direction of a school psychologist, coordinates multidisciplinary evaluation teams to evaluate students. Conducts re-evaluations, participates in individualized education program (IEP) teams, and participates in other activities consistent with university training standards as deemed appropriate by the District.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two years graduate work in education and Psychology beyond the Bachelor’s Degree.
- Must be currently enrolled in a university training program leading to certification as a school psychologist.
- Completion of appropriate coursework and eligible to begin internship certified by University..
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs Child Find duties.
- Administers intelligence tests, achievement tests, behavior rating scales, tests of perceptual and motor development, and instruments for special education evaluations.
- Interpret individual test finding and recommendations to staff and parents of students who are being considered for placement in special education programs.
- Demonstrates knowledge of district programs and works as part of an individualized education program team to determine educational placements and supports to meet the academic and behavioral needs and least restrictive environments of students.
- Promotes the introduction and implementation of school wide programs in schools to maintain positive school climates conducive to learning and to meet the psychological, educational, and sociological needs of children.
- Promotes home school collaboration by referring individuals to community agencies to secure medical, or social services for child or family.
- Maintains confidential files and accurate records on all identified students.
- Maintains compliance with federal/state statutes and district policies and procedures.
- Prepares required written reports in a timely manner to summarize findings, interpret data, and offer recommendation.
- Assists teachers and others in interpreting and using assessment data for program planning of identified students.
- Provides social, emotional, and behavioral health support to students and personnel as part of the district Crisis Response Team.
- Works under the direction and guidance of the supervising psychologist(s).
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet district software, preferred accounting used software and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).
- The ability to use technology for computer test scoring and report writing.
- Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.
- Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
217 days to coincide with the psychologist's holidays.
Salary to be determined according to the Board approved range.
